Vehicle history:
This tipo 904B2 last
roadworthiness check ran out in September 1997. The car was offered for
sale on the Dutch Alfa club forum in January 2008 in a set with an early black
coloured Alfasud TI of the third series with the small boot. The owner needed to get rid of
these 2 project cars which were standing outside and therefore the price was very interesting. Both
cars were bought by a well known Dutch Alfa shop with the intent for restoring
the Giardinetta. Most probably due to the lack of time the car was sold
in September 2015 to the Spitsbaard traders. The car was available for
sale but not actively advertised as such. It makes a
salvage-able impression, but it will take a significant amount of work
to get the car roadworthy again. The car has its original Dutch licence
plates.
In September 29th 2016 a lady from Frankfurt approached the Giardinetta register with the question if a project car for sale was known. Apparently her father was on the lookout for a project car for over 3 years. After informing the contact data of the seller of this particular vehicle the deal was made very quickly. On September 30th a down payment was made and now the car is waiting to be picked up. Although it's a shame that an original Dutch licence plate Giardinetta (GP-76-TT) is now exported abroad it is very good news that this vehicle will be restored by a former Alfa Romeo mechanic from Germany. The progress on the restoration is quite quick especially taking into the consideration the amount of structural work required to get a solid body again. The project timing is unknown to the register, but if this pace can be kept it may potentially drive again in 2018.
