Vehicle history:
This car was first registered
in the Netherlands on October 1st 1980 and still has its original Dutch
licence plates. The format of the VIN indicates that the vehicle
was built in 1980. The VIN number format was changed from 1980 onwards
compared to the previous format in use since the first Alfasud in 1972. At some point in time the front wings were replaced
with 3rd series Sud ones as well as the headlights and the grille and
the plastic bumpers. The current owner intends to put it back on the
road in relatively short time. Due to the fact hasn't been on the road
in more than 20 years that may be a challenge. The car has been in
storage since 1994. The current owner who purchased the car on June 20th
2016 is the third owner. After a short time, in November 2016, this
vehicle was put up for sale on the Dutch auction site "Marktplaats" and
shortly later also on the Dutch Alfa Romeo club "SCARB" website forum
due to the fact that the owner has too many cars to handle. After
selling one of the cars in his collection, an Alfetta GTV 2.0, there was
room available to keep the Giardinetta. Currently it is stripped for
welding and painting work which should commence relatively soon (status
June'17). |
